Footage showing life in Glasgow back in 1901 has been uncovered that has been hailed as an "amazing historic film".
These days, Jamaica Street in the centre of the city is known for being the home of iconic nightclub Sub Club, as well as The Crystal Palace Wetherspoon pub, but over 100 years ago, it was a very different story.
The video, shared on YouTube by Public Eye Studios, shows an everyday scene on the street back in 1901. Unlike most historical footage, the clip is in colour, making it even more immersive.
In the footage, a large number of pedestrians can be seen walking along the road. There is also a high number of horse-drawn carriages carrying goods and passengers.
One of the first things viewers will notice about the video is the clothes of the era, which were predominantly dark in colour and far more formal than what you would see on the street today.
Over the footage, a narrator can be heard stating: "Although earlier films of Glasgow exist, this is perhaps one of the most beautiful. Showing a cross-section of urban life, people going about their busy life and the way the traffic flows.
"Traffic flowing in 1901 at a far more rapid pace than the modern-day scene of Glasgow."
The video then shows a large number of people walking down a street, taking up the entirety of the road.
The narrator explains: "The film finishes with capturing a group of employees in a parade, marching at the top of Jamaica Street."
Since being uploaded, the video has received many comments from the public on YouTube and Facebook, where it was shared on the Scotland from the Roadside group.
One stated: "What an amazing film archive!"
"Very cool," a second simply said, while a third noted: "Incredible how busy it was".
