Manchester United fans are pleading with their club to make a move for Christopher Nkunku this summer after he was announced as the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season.
The RB Leipzig star has enjoyed an outstanding season, having scored 34 goals across all competitions, while also being involved in 35 goals during his side’s league campaign. His performances have led to him beating Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski to take the Bundesliga’s top individual prize.
Nkunku’s form has also seen him being linked with a big-money move away from Leipzig in the summer. Bayern, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Chelsea are among the clubs to have been touted as possible destinations, as have United.

The Reds have long been linked with a move for the France international, with Ralf Rangnick said to be a huge fan of the 24-year-old. Reports suggest the interim boss was left astounded when he was told United were not tracking the player after identifying him as a January target.
With United in the hunt for new forwards this summer though, Nkunku could well be of interest once again. Having been named as the best in the Bundesliga, fans are eager to see United rectify their mistake.
Nkunku is under contract at Leipzig until 2024, and the club’s director Oliver Mintzlaff has insisted they are not open to letting him go this summer. Leipzig though have made a habit of cashing in on some of their best players over the years, which could give United fans some encouragement.
