Helen Skelton has spoken publicly for the first time since her split from former husband Richie Myler, saying: "No one knows what happens behind closed doors." The Countryfile star 38, who's mum to Ernie, six, Louis, five and five-month-old Elsie Kate, split from the Rugby League star, 32, back in April. She said at the time she was "very sad" and that they're now co-parenting after he left the family home. Not long after heartbroken Helen's public announcement, it emerged that Richie, who she married in 2013, had already moved on and was in a new relationship with Stephanie Thirkill, who is the daughter of the president of Leeds Rhinos, the club he plays for.

Richie has since insisted that his romance with Stephanie started after his marriage was over. While Helen has understandably been left devastated, she's opened up about the things she’s learned when it comes to coping with balancing work and motherhood.
"Don't compare yourself to anyone else, no one knows what happens behind closed doors," she said. "Lists and diaries are good too. If I write down things I need to do, I feel like they are a weight off my brain." The devoted mum is clearly making the best of things with her kids and putting all her energy into them, as she also revealed that walking the family dog "helps my head" and that her children are "happier outside".
