Everyone across the country will soon hear a siren-like noise ringing from their phone as the UK Government tests their new emergency alert system.
Emergency Alerts will be used to warn of a danger to life in your area. Your mobile phone or tablet will receive the alerts when required to provide information about how to stay safe.
The alert will be used for dangerous situations including severe flooding, fire and extreme weather, with the UK wide test set to take place on April 23.
But what can you expect to hear, when will the alert sound and how will it be used? Here is everything you need to know.
The alert will sound as a loud, beeping 'siren' like noise. Your device will also vibrate during the alert, as well as reading out the information provided.
The noise will be difficult to ignore and you will be required to acknowledge before using your device. However, drivers have been urged to ignore the alert whilst behind the wheel.

The UK Government will carry out a test for the emergency alert system on Sunday, April 23.
The test alert will read: "This is a test of Emergency Alerts, a new UK government service that will warn you if there’s a life-threatening emergency nearby.
"In an actual emergency, follow the instructions in the alert to keep yourself and others safe.
"Visit gov.uk/alerts for more information.
"This is a test. You do not need to take any action."
The emergency services and Government departments, agencies and public bodies that deal with emergencies.
