Harry Styles earns the Official Irish Chart Double this week following the release of his third solo album, Harry’s House.
Harry’s House flies into Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart, earning the biggest first week of an album so far this year – As It Was did the same for a single on its debut back in April.
Harry also sees his previous albums enjoy a boost, with 2019’s Fine Line up three (5) and 2017’s Harry Styles returning to the Top 50 (23).
On the Irish Singles Chart, As It Was earns an impressive eighth week at Number 1, leading an all-Styles Top 3, with album tracks Late Night Talking coming in at 2, and Matilda at 3.
Last week’s Number 1 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers by Kendrick Lamar finishes at Number 3, and ABBA see their Gold greatest hits album rise three places back up the chart to Number 10 as their boundary-pushing avatar concert, ABBA Voyage, sees its world premiere this week.
Outside the Top 10, English singer-songwriter David Gray sees his 1998 studio album White Ladder enter the chart at Number 17 as he sets off on the delayed White Ladder Tour 2020, including three dates in Dublin last week and an upcoming night in Cork.
Finally, fresh off of two dates in Dublin this week on their long-awaited comeback tour, rock icons My Chemical Romance rocket back into the Top 50 with two of their previous albums. 2014’s compilation, May Death Never Stop You claims a Top 20 placing at Number 19, and 2006’s The Black Parade takes Number 29.
Cat Burns rebounds back to her previous peak of Number 10 with Go, while 2Step by Ed Sheeran also rebounds one to Number 11. Entering the Top 20 for the first time is Tion Wayne & La Roux with IFTK, jumping five places to Number 18.
