Eagle-eyed Harry Potter fanatics have reason to believe Rupert Grint never actually attended the recent TV reunion special in person after spotting a tiny continuity flaw.
Fans were delighted when the one-off show, titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, aired on HBO on New Years Day.
The special brought together the actors and crew of the smash-hit franchise for an emotional trip down memory lane, featuring behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.
However, since it aired, viewers have been quick to call out errors they noticed in the two-hour special including Oliver and James Phelps, who played the Weasley twins, being credited the wrong way round for their parts.
There was also a mix up between Emma Watson and Emma Roberts which was quickly straightened out, according to Lancs Live.
But now, fans have turned their attention to Rupert Grint and the fact he might not have been at the reunion in person at all.
The show was filmed in Leavesden Studios in London and supposedly started filming in November 2021, according to a social media post from Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the films.
However, Rupert was actually in Toronto, Canada, in November 2021 because he was filming scenes for Netflix's Cabinet of Curiosities.
Fans also think they spotted a Toronto filming crew in the credits, giving fans another clue that Rupert Grint might not have been there in person.
However, a scene where Rupert and Emma hold hands might not have been as easy to edit, but a post on Twitter showing Emma with different nail varnish on but the same outfit is leading fans to believe something fishy is going on.
