Gunna Denied Release From Jail Again Due to Fears of Witness Intimidation

Ethan Shanfeld Atlanta rapper Gunna will remain in jail ahead of his January trial on gang-related charges after a judge denied his release due to fears it might lead to witness intimidation. Prosecutors claimed that a co-defendant in the trial offered to “whack someone” on Gunna’s behalf, Billboard reports. Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, has already been denied pre-trial release twice due to Fulton County prosecutors’ fears that it might lead to witness intimidation. Gunna’s attorneys argue that there is not a “shred of evidence” to justify keeping him behind bars before he has been proven guilty.

Coachella sues Ghana’s Afrochella for trademark infringement

Coachella and its organisers Goldenvoice have filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Ghana-based festival Afrochella.According to the suit, which was filed in a California federal court on October 5, Goldenvoice claim that Afrochella (via Pitchfork) is “intentionally trading on the goodwill of well-known Coachella and Chella festivals and trademarks by actively promoting music events in the United States and in Ghana using the confusingly similar mark Afrochella”The suit continued: “Not simply content to imitate and attempt to trade on the goodwill of Coachella, Defendants even went so far as to apply in Ghana to register Coachella as their own trademarks.”“Despite repeated requests from Plaintiffs, Defendants have refused to adopt their own distinctive event name, and as a result, instances of actual confusion have already appeared on social media.”The lawsuit “seeks injunctive relief and damages for Defendants willful infringement in the United States and to protect the public here from confusion”Back in 2017, former Afrochella boss Edward “Deezy” Elohim took to Twitter to call the festival a “Coachella themed event”.Coachella first warned Afrochella in 2016. Inside David S. Goyer’s Blueprint for ‘Batman Unburied’ Spinoffs, ‘Eternal Champion’ TV Series and Playing the ‘Elevated’ Genre Game (EXCLUSIVE)

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer With peak nerd TV upon us, there’s never been a better time to be a fan of genre programming – or David S. Goyer, a devotee and prolific writer-producer of genre fare. Goyer and his Phantom Four Films partner Keith Levine produced Hulu’s new David Bruckner-directed “Hellraiser” movie, which launched Friday, and are in the middle of filming their latest take on classic IP, “The Omen” prequel movie “The First Omen,” in Rome. Beyond that, the pair are in post-production on the second season of Apple’s “Foundation” adaptation, breaking the writers’ room for more episodes of the “Batman Unburied” podcast for DC and Spotify. They’re also working on two spinoff podcasts, including “Riddler,” featuring Hasan Minhaj, and a Batgirl/Barbara Gordon project. And they’re in the early stages of developing a dramatic series revolving around Michael Moorcock’s “The Eternal Champion” books for Skydance and Apple TV+ with “Foundation” writer Dana Jackson. If that’s not enough, they’re also holding their breath for a renewal of the Warner Bros.-produced “The Sandman” at Netflix.

Harry Styles' odds slashed to be the next James Bond

All this Late Night Talking about Harry Styles playing James Bond seems to be nudging him ever closer to donning that famous white tuxedo. The dramatic slashing of his odds to a stunningly low 14-1 follows a flurry of betting this week on the former One Direction star succeeding Daniel Craig, who stepped down from the role after last year's No Time To Die. Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Although Henry Cavill is favourite to become the next James Bond, punters have different ideas. The franchise have talked about surprising the audience with their choice, and Harry Styles would certainly do that." Indeed, as Styles' movie Don’t Worry Darling went down a storm at the box office, a new wave of punters really do believe Harry is next in line to the 007 throne. This is a huge swing from the 33-1 bookies were offering only recently. The momentum now means Harry has left fellow one-time 66-1 longshots - Thor's Chris Hemsworth and Star Wars' Ewan McGregor - firmly in the dust.
