A guitarist proposed to his bandmate girlfriend on the main stage of a rock festival while projecting out the proposal on a giant screen.
Josh Sellis, 28, made the decision to pop the question to Liv Gardner, 26, eight months ago when they learnt their band, Monastery, had won a competition to play on the main stage at a festival. The couple have been together nearly four years, and formed the band just before lockdown.
Josh, who bought the ring in August and hid it in his bedside table so Liv, who works in PR, wouldn't find it, got down on one knee in footage which was projected onto giant screens, on August 20.

Both the couple sing and play guitar in the band, which has two other members. They were picked to play on the main stage of Godiva Calling, a three-day even in Coventry, where the couple live.
Josh, who does sales for university programmes, said: "She gave me the wrong hand, didn't say anything, and looked like a rabbit in the headlights. It is always a big life event but when you put in on a big screen it just added the pressure on it.
"Nobody in the band or our families knew what I was planning. I was more terrified about the proposal than actually playing. Liv and I were going to see the first band we saw together at the end of the month so I was going to propose then.
"Then we won a competition to perform at Godiva Calling so I thought the main stage of a festival would be better.
Liv said: "It was a massive shock, nobody in the band knew it was happening. It was quite strange that all my friends and family got to experience it.
