A gran has been left angered after she was sent home from hospital without an X-ray when her hip was badly broken.
Joy Gray, 61, who lives on Half Edge Lane in Eccles says she suffered a fall on her hip on August 9. Four days later on August 12 she went to Salford Royal A&E to be checked out.
She says she was left waiting for eight hours and then told she had minor injuries, sent home and told to take pain killers. Joy, who had an aneurism five years ago, which left her in a coma for two weeks and partially paralysed down her left side, says she was told her hip was just bruised.

The former nursery nurse, who has two grown up children, says she continued with her life and carried on walking about, putting weight on her hip. But she says she was in so much pain that on August 31 she attended Oldham Royal Hospital and after being X-rayed was informed her hip was broken and she would require a full hip replacement.
She says: "The surgeon said I had a bad break and had further damaged it by walking on it. They said if I had been X-rayed first it could have repaired."
Joy, who has a seven-week-old grandson and a one-year-old grandson said she had a full hip operation on September 5 and says she is "disgusted" that she had to endure a serious operation, when a simple X-ray would have meant she could have avoided it.
She says: "I am disgusted with Salford Royal Hospital. I have been in agony and I wish they had X-rayed me at the time. But we just believe them don't we?"
