‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ sequel confirmed for release next year

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will premiere on December 20, 2023.Announced its upcoming schedule, the studio confirmed that a new Ghostbusters movie will hit theatres next year after the success of the 2021 reboot.Afterlife was directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the 1984 original. As well as a new cast – including Paul Rudd and Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard – last year’s film saw the return of original cast members Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts in their classic roles.Reitman and writer Gil Kenan also confirmed that the sequel will return to the series’ home of New York City for the sequel.We're back December 2023.
