Graham Norton has named Harvey Weinstein as the "worst-ever" guest to appear on his talk show. During a recent conversation in Dublin, Ireland to promote his new book Forever Home, the TV host was asked about his least favourite guest, and he didn't hesitate to select disgraced producer Weinstein, who appeared on an episode alongside David Tennant, Olivia Colman, and Jessie J in 2007. "I often talk around who my least favourite guest was, but now, someone reminded me, I have a really good answer to this now.
It's Harvey Weinstein. He's in jail, so he gets the prize for the worst guest ever," he said, according to JOE. "And actually, it was weird, because he asked for my email.
And he emailed me something very nice, a complimentary thing. And then, he decided he wanted to be on the show because he was going to promote something. "Norton went on to recall how Weinstein wouldn't take no for an answer.
"At the time, I thought that sort of attitude, that kind of, 'Oh no, I'm going on', that is what makes you a very good producer," the 59-year-old continued. "But of course, now that we know what we know, that is what makes him a predator. It was that kind of weird, tunnel-vision thing.
And it was sort of chilling in retrospect because I was just laughing at those emails. But you realise, 'Oh my God, that is an insight into how that man is. '"More than 80 women made allegations of sexual harassment and/or rape against Weinstein in October 2017, sparking the #MeToo social media movement.

sit-down interview with Radio Times posted Wednesday, the late night host and television fixture railed on “Monty Python” icon John Cleese for not getting with the times and deriding so-called “cancel culture.” “John Cleese has been very public recently about complaining about what you can’t say, and I just think it must be very hard to be a man of a certain age who’s been able to say whatever he liked for years, and now, suddenly, there’s some accountability,” Norton told Mariella Frostrup at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.” It’s free speech but not consequence-free.”Cleese has been very vocal, particularly in the last year, about his qualms with being held accountable for his words and opinions, telling Fox News this summer that wokeness has had a “disastrous” impact on comedy and that “if you’re worried about offending people and constantly thinking about that, you’re not going to be very creative.”Cleese now has a series headed to the U.K.’s conservative, anti-cancel culture GB News station in 2023, in which he’s said he’ll be collaborating with satirist Andrew Doyle and encouraging “proper argument.”“You read a lot of articles in papers by people complaining about ‘cancel culture,’ and you think: In what world are you cancelled?” Norton said of the hot-button phenomenon. “I’m reading your article in a newspaper, or you’re doing interviews about how terrible it is to be cancelled.”The fix is to change the way we talk about “cancel culture” in the first place, he added.
Critics slammed Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday for referring to America's youth as "our children" during her interview with late night talk show host Seth Meyers. "When you see our kids, and I truly believe that they are our children, they are the children of our country, of our communities, I mean, our future is really bright if we, if we prioritize them, and therefore prioritize the climate crisis and the need to address it. If we think about our children, prioritizing the need to bring our country together," Harris said. Harris and Meyers were discussing a photo of the vice president surrounded by children in a classroom in Connecticut.
Kanye West recently gave an interview for an episode of The Shop – a talk show hosted by LeBron James and his business partner, Maverick Carter – however in the wake of the rapper’s recent controversies, that interview has been scrapped. In a statement shared with Andscape, Carter explained that West’s episode was shot very recently – the statement itself notes that it was taped “yesterday”, and the article was published on Tuesday (October 11), but it’s not clear exactly when the statement was given – with the rapper’s appearance on the show having been locked in several weeks earlier.“After talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped,” Carter said, “I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.”As a result, West’s episode of The Shop was scrapped entirely, and no content from his interview will be made public. Carter went on to assure fans that while his show “embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions”, it and its team “have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate”.In closing, he continued: “I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”In addition to West, the scrapped episode of The Shop was due to feature Jeezy – with whom West collaborated on the 2008 track ‘Put On’ – and shoe designer Salehe Bembury.
