Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid loses it with MP over Downing Street lockdown party

Susanna Reid lost her temper with MP Edward Argar on Good Morning Britain as he refused to condemn Boris Johnson over a mass 'bring your own booze' party that was held for Downing Street employees during lockdown.

On the evening of January 10, the contents of the email were published online, with it being reported by The Mirror that those who were invited to the gathering in May 2020 were told that they should 'make the most of the lovely weather' despite the fact that, at that time, the rest of the UK was prohibited from outdoor meetings with more than one other person.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie are alleged to have been in attendance at the party, but when challenged on the report, the Prime Minister said that he did not think it right to comment on the situation until a probe into it by Second Permanent Secretary Sue Gray had been completed, as reported by Chronicle Live.

Johnson merely laughed as he was put on the spot about the party by the media on Monday, with viewers of Susanna and fellow GMB presenter Richard Madeley at home left disgusted by the tone of his response.

Argar, Minister of State for Health, appeared on Tuesday morning's show and after informing Susanna and Richard that he was not at the party, he said: "Every day we were talking about human lives sadly cut short by the virus and the impact on other people's lives," adding: "I don't think the Prime Minister was laughing."

Trying to get a straight answer out of him, Susanna pressed: "Mr Argar, Richard's question was why the Prime Minister cannot, when asked that question, say whether or not he was there and why he has to ask Sue Gray whether he was at the party.
