Gogglebox makes line-up change as familiar face confirmed

Celebrity Gogglebox. A winner of 13 TV awards over its nine-year history, the show's most recent run featuring ordinary families earned five million viewers per episode at its peak. But while that series has come to an end, the ever popular Celebrity version is back with a star-studded cast featuring Melanie C, Martin and Roman Kemp, Denise van Outen, Nick Grimshaw and Mo Gilligan.

Gogglebox has finished, it is time for Celebrity Gogglebox. There will be some new celebrity faces and some series regulars returning for the new series. Denise van Outen will be returning to the series with a new face joining her on her sofa after she split from her ex of seven years Eddie Boxshall.

This year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament will see the end of an era. No, Roger Federer has not announced he will be zipping up his racquet – instead, the BBC’s veteran presenter Sue Barker has confirmed she will be hanging up her microphone after 30 years. 

Gogglebox has replaced another one of its celebrity line up with a new famous face. Gyles Brandreth will be joined by Joanna Lumley this series, rather than Dame Maureen Lipman.

Gogglebox is saying farewell to one of its families, who have explained their decision to exit in a statement published on social media. The Baggs family – dad Terry, mum Lisa and their two sons, Joe and George – have put an end to their stint on the reality TV show, citing other "exciting opportunities".

Gogglebox viewers were less than impressed after two of the programme’s regulars branded a Top of the Pops segment from 1992 ‘the olden days’. Best friends Abbie Lynn and Georgia Bell, Durham-based armchair critics, joined the series in 2018, and have provided us with plenty of entertainment over the years. Abbie, 20, and Georgia, 21, were baffled watching a clip on tonight’s show, which featured a look-back at an old Top of the Pops episode.

Gogglebox star Lee Riley has shared two exciting updates with fans, confirming this his co-star Jenny Newby is out of hospital following her surgery, and that the pair will be returning for the next series, starting later this year. After the pair were missing from recent episodes, sparking concern from fans, Lee had taken to social media to share that Jenny had undergone surgery, and hence was missing from the show and unable to attend the Baftas. He had assured fans, however, that it was a ‘minor operation’ and Jenny would be fighting fit in no time.
