GMB's Kate Garraway says she 'wouldn't have swiped right' for husband Derek on dating app

Kate said of the dating apps: “I’ve got a friend who’s married with a couple of kids and they met through an app, so we definitely know it works.
”She continued: “I definitely was way too old to have used apps, so I haven't got any personal experience of it. ”She then added: “But I’m not sure I would have swiped right for my husband – or him me. “We don't know until you meet somebody and have that connection.
But they say that’s the way people do it now, they just don’t get out and see people. ” The comment came after host Kate shared a health update with ITV viewers on her husband Derek Draper, after his recent health scare. It came during a chat with rail union boss Mick Lynch amid the rail strikes enveloping the UK's train network.
She told the RMT union boss of her own experiences with rail staff recently, amid ongoing staff shortages, but praised the rail worker's continued high levels of service. Kate then said: "I spend pretty much all of my time on trains, or in hospital with Derek. " The former political lobbyist, 55, was rushed to A&E with sepsis in July as he continues to battle the health issues he has had since contracting Covid in 2020.
