2021 VMAs on MTV plummeted 17% in the key age group of audiences between the ages of 18 and 49, according to the Wrap. Although that doesn’t sound like a good sign for the infamously messy ceremony, the social media numbers tell a different story, marking it as a hit.

MTV’s Video Music Awards air tonight, September 12th, at 8PM Eastern time.

Fans didn’t see everything at the 2021 VMAs, but Us Weekly caught all the juicy details fans couldn’t watch on MTV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Olivia Rodrigo was crowned the Best New Artist of the Year at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. After going up against 24kGoldn, Giveon, The Kid Laroi, Polo G and Saweetie, Rodrigo took home one of the show's top honors Sunday night.
