A seven-year-old girl was reportedly taken into the woods in an abduction attempt. The child is believed to have been taken on Wednesday afternoon from Warne Avenue, Droylsden, Greater Manchester, on Wednesday afternoon.
She was thankfully reunited with her family a short time later, with authorities launching a search for her alleged kidnapper after being called at roughly 4pm. A large police presence remains in the area as enquiries continue, the Mirror reports.
Detectives have also released two CCTV images of a man they urgently want to speak to in relation to the incident, with anyone who sees him told to immediately call 999. The first picture was captured just moments after the alleged abduction and the second taken around 30 minutes later, police said.
In the latter, the man appeared to be wearing his jacket around his waist in Gainsborough Road as he headed towards The Snipe. Police said in a statement: "We thank the public for their assistance so far and ask that anyone with information contacts us first to help our investigation.
"If you see the man, call us on 999 quoting incident 2270 of 17/08/2022. Other details can be passed to us via our LiveChat facility on our website (www.gmp.police.uk) or by calling 101."
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of abduction and sexual assault. He remains in custody at this time, police said.
