Once upon a time, in a land not too far from here, was a magical place where, this Easter, everyone’s invited to re-wild their imagination.
From Saturday, April 2 to Monday, May 2, 2022, visitors to Chester Zoo can experience the storytelling extravaganza!
For one month, the conservation and education charity is hosting a range of events, from song and dance to puppetry, performances and workshops - there’s set to be something for everyone to enjoy.
Over April, over 100 different activities will be ‘popping up’ all around the zoo, with new events every day, so if you ever needed an excuse to take a trip, this is it.
Whether you want to have a go at writing, or try your hand at puppet making, Chester Zoo has a programme packed full of fascinating stories from Chester’s expert zoo rangers themselves - you’ll never believe what all the animals get up to.
Chester Zoo’s storytelling pop-up will include the chance to create a funny comic story about the wild antics of the lemurs, with illustrator Nikki Pinder.
Storytellers, Yan Tan Tehthera, will be putting on an exciting performance where the audience chooses the ending.
Plus, there’ll also be a concert from singer-songwriter Ashley Fayth, along with miniature theatre shows from PuppetSoup and inspiring songs and dances from Amasing.
The event will also include a brand new interactive storytelling trail that features illustrations from the fantastic Flap Flap children’s books, illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
Along the trail, visitors will discover a whole range of activities along. Have a go at camouflaging yourself like a chameleon, or attempt to balance on one leg just like a flamingo, and learn fascinating animal facts all along the way.
So, to experience the wildest
