Gary Neville has sent a strong message to Frenkie de Jong and Barcelona amid Manchester United's ongoing transfer saga with the Dutch midfielder.
Last month, United reached an 'agreement in principle' with Barca over the signing of De Jong. However, the 25-year-old is thought to be reluctant to join United due to the money he is owned by his current club — despite his links with new Old Trafford head honcho Erik ten Hag.
It is understood that De Jong is owed €17m by the Catalan club. Despite owing one of their current players this amount of money, Barca have been active in the transfer window, bringing in the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha to the club.

Taking to Twitter, former United captain Neville called on De Jong to take steps against Barca. He explained: " De Jong should consider legal action v[ersus] Barcelona and all players should be behind him.
"A club spending fortunes on new players whilst not paying the ones they have under contract their full money is immoral and a breach. FIFPRO should be all over bullying like this and stop it."
De Jong has previously insisted that Barcelona is his dream club and that he wants to stay beyond this summer. During pre-season, Barca boss Xavi has opted to select the midfielder in central defence, with United still trying to clinch a deal.
