Twitter's head Elon Musk has been called out by the son of Leicestershire-star Gary Lineker following his father's public fallout with the BBC as trolls have hurled abuse his way online. Gary hit out at the billionaire and chief executive officer on Twitter, including him in a post that shows his son George being told that he should be "burned at the stake" for his public support of his father. It comes after the former footballer was reinstated as host of Match Of The Day (MOTD) on Monday (March 13).
Taking to the social media platform, he re-shared the message sent to his eldest son via a screenshot. “Is this acceptable @Twitter @elonmusk? And I don’t mean the grammar," he captioned the upload. The abusive message, from an account with only one follower, described George as a “mug” for “sticking up” for what his father said, adding: “You need to be burned at the stake.
” Earlier in the day, George had tweeted: “Social media’s mad isn’t it. Over the last few days, on insta – never had so many nice messages. On Twitter – never had so much abuse.
It’s not even anything to do with me. ” READ MORE: Gary Lineker should be sacked say readers as Leicester City legend prepares to return to BBC screensGary Lineker's post quickly caught the attention of thousands online, with masses of comments from people reacting to the abuse.
