Gabrielle Union holds hands with her co-star Jeremy Pope at the premiere of their new movie, The Inspection, during the 2022 New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Friday (October 14) in New York City.
The two actors met up with their co-stars Raul Castillo, Aaron Dominguez, Eman Esfandi, McCaul Lombardi, Aubrey Joseph, and Andrew Kai, as well as producers Effie Brown and Chester Algernal Gordon and director Elegance Bratton for a Q&A on stage ahead of the screening.
Earlier in the day, Gabrielle and Jeremy also participated in another press conference for the film.
Just recently, Gabrielle opened up about how she found it difficult to take on the role of Inez, a mother who rejects her son after finding out that he is gay.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Gabrielle shared that she was first looking at the project as an executive producer only.
“I normally look for characters that have some chunk of me in them, and I did not see that in Inez,” she shared, adding that Elegance encouraged her as an artist “was something I never allowed myself to see about myself.
She went on, saying that the common place she found with Inez is that “everybody is on the chopping block, everybody,” she explains. “Who you will sell down the river, thinking it will get you one step further? It can get dark.”

Angelique Jackson “The Inspection” writer-director Elegance Bratton is living out a prayer. “I was in a homeless shelter on my way to joining the Marine Corps, give or take a few years. I didn’t even necessarily understand exactly what I was praying for,” Bratton tells Variety, thinking back to 20 years ago. “I had gotten the job title Combat Camera, which was the first job title I ever had that sounded cool —most times it’s like, I’m the shift supervisor at whatever — so I was just praying that this could mean something more,” he continues. “I wanted it to change my life and it really did.”
