TV presenter Gabby Logan fought back tears as she discussed her husband Kenny's devastating prostate cancer diagnosis during an appearance on BBC Breakfast. Former Scotland rugby star Kenny, 50, revealed that he had been diagnosed with the disease back in February, after listening to his wife's podcast The Mid Point.
On the episode that had prompted Kenny to get checked, Gabby, 49, had been discussing the changes for middle-aged women in their body around menopause, and it caused the ex-rugby pro to wonder: "What about me?" The pair, who share 17 year old twins, Reuben and Lois, are set to do a joint episode on Gabby's podcast to discuss Kenny's diagnosis and treatment. Gabby broke down in tears as she was asked by BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent "how real is that calm" of how she felt when she and Kenny recorded the episode of the podcast about his diagnosis.
As tears sprang to her eyes, Gabby looked to her husband as she took a big deep breath to compose herself as she said: "Because it's my job, I suppose I went into 'work mode' a bit, and kind of sat there, and we were in my office and because I record my podcast there, it's the same seat that I do all of my interviews. "So sort of turned myself into interviewer and tried to talk to Kenny in a way that we could illicit information.
I want people to listen to it and learn about it". Kenny spoke about the episode of Gabby's podcast that prompted him to get checked as he said: "I was actually listening to one of the episodes about menopause about women and their hormones falling off a cliff.
"As I was going through this in my head, and I thought 'what about me', 'what is happening to me', and Gabby said that I should go and get checked. "I went to get a wellness check
