Freddie Flintoff 'lucky to be alive' as health and safety teams probe crash

Freddie Flintoff's son says that his dad is "lucky to be alive" after a horror crash as health and safety teams start an investigation.
The former professional cricketer, 45, was rushed to hospital by a helicopter following the incident while filming a segment for BBC Top Gear at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey, on Tuesday morning.
It's not yet known how the accident happened or what caused it, but the Health and Safety Executive are said to be "aware of this incident and making inquiries".
Freddie's son Corey, 16, said that the family have all been left shocked. He told the Mail Online: "He's Okay. I'm not too sure what happened but he is lucky to be alive.
"It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he's going to be OK."
A BBC spokesperson said: "Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning - with crew medics attending the scene immediately.
"He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course."
The father-of-four has been working on the BBC show since 2019. And it's not the first time he's been involved in a collision on the programme.
The same year he started the job, he was involved in a minor incident when he collided into a market stall in Nottinghamshire.
