Rightly or wrongly, Jack Grealish has been under the spotlight pretty much constantly since he joined Manchester City in the summer of 2021.
City broke the British transfer record when they activated the £100m release clause in Grealish's Aston Villa contract, and after enjoying a productive season at the Midlands club supporters understandably expected big things.
The England attacker was a bit underwhelming for all concerned - while new signings often take at least one full season to adapt to Pep Guardiola's system, Grealish didn't really do enough to justify the huge fee City laid out for him.
Of course, Grealish had no say in his transfer fee, but a return of three goals and three assists in the Premier League was not really good enough. Fans and critics quickly jumped on his back, and that's continued into this season even though the 27-year-old missed a month through injury.

Grealish came off the bench for England in their UEFA Nations League defeat to Italy last week, and that was the last chance he'll get to prove to Gareth Southgate that he deserves a starring role for England at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. That's because Grealish was booked, meaning he is suspended for England's clash with Germany on Monday.
Many - particularly Graeme Souness - will say that Grealish doesn't deserve to be on the plane to Qatar. However, that isn't the view of former City and Three Lions manager Sven Goran Eriksson.
Speaking to BoyleSports, the Swedish coach spoke positively about the attacker, although he did question the money City spent on him.
