World champion boxer Tyson Fury has called for the government to take action on knife crime after his cousin, 31-year-old Rico Burton, was fatally stabbed in Altrincham over the weekend. Passengers have been warned that if they don't charge their phones before going to the airport, they may be taken away.
It's part of a range of hand luggage rules which can often stump holidaymakers. While the majority of rules are commonly known, the one rule surrounding electronics could catch a lot of Brits out.
Probably one of the most common items someone will take with them to the airport, electronic devices - mobile phones in particular - could be subject to rule breaking if they are not charged before being taken as hand luggage. Experts from the International Citizens Insurance say it's "suprising" how few Brits have read up on airline rules and regulations, the Express reports.

The experts explain: "If you cannot turn on your devices when requested by security personnel, they can take it from you, placing your holiday snaps in jeopardy." The government also warns on its website: "Make sure your electronic devices are charged before you travel. If your device does not switch on when requested, you will not be allowed to take it onto the aircraft."
While not all passengers will be stopped to see if their devices are charged, airport security may carry out random checks. British Airways urged passengers: "You can generally take electric and electronic items in your hand or checked baggage, but need to follow specific safety instructions.
"Airport security staff may ask you to turn on electronic or battery-powered devices, such as phones, tablets, e-books and laptops, to demonstrate their function. If you're not able to do this, you will not be able to take your device with you.
