A flight attendant has revealed the most difficult drink that passengers can order on a plane.
The anonymous flight attendant, who goes by the name Jet, explained how a can of Diet Coke can be somewhat of a nightmare to serve on flights.
Due to the pressure inside the plane, soft drinks can foam up a lot more when they are poured out of a can.
The flight attendant, who shares their experiences of more than 10 years as a member of cabin crew on blog These Gold Wings, said that the worst culprit for this is the very popular Diet Coke.
They write: “I literally have to sit and wait for the bubbles to fall before I can continue pouring.
“If all three passengers ask for a Diet Coke, I’ll often get them started, take another three drink orders, serve those, and then finish the Diet Cokes.
“As the infomercials say, ‘there’s got to be a better way’.”
The flight attendant then goes on to explain how the wait can be minimised by using one simple technique.
A video alongside the blog post shows one crew member tipping an opened can upside down into one of the plastic cups you generally see on board flights.
The can is then lifted up slowly to pour the drink inside the cup.
They explain how the air pressure on board the flight can help a lot in these circumstances.
“What you can’t see is that the Diet Coke doesn’t come out of the can when flipped upside down until you lift it up and tilt it slightly”, they add.
“This is because the air pressure is keeping the coke in the can. It makes pouring the Diet Coke very controllable and reduces the chances of spilling or overflow.
“I know this seems like a minor detail, but at my airline we offer a full inflight service including hot towels, meals, bar, tea/coffee and more on flights over three
