Mariah Carey is being sued for copyright infringement over her song 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'. The hit has become a festive staple since it was released in 1994 but Mariah and her co-writer Walter Afanasieff are being sued for $20 million by songwriter Andy Stone - who claims that he co-wrote a track of the same name in 1989.

The singer and her co-songwriter Walter Afansieff have been named in the lawsuit, which has been filed by Andy Stone. Stone, in legal documents filed at the US District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana, claims that their song was taken from one with the same name he co-wrote for Vince Vance & the Valiants in 1989.

Stone is also coming after Carey’s co-writer on the song, Walter Afanasieff, in the civil suit, which was filed in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana.Stone released his 1989 twangy version — which musically and lyrically sounds nothing like Carey’s pop performance — eight years before Carey changed the holiday season forever in 1994.

Out LGBTQI Australian actors Murray Bartlett, Hugh Sheridan and Troye Sivan have been nominated for the 2022 Logie Awards. The nominations for Australian TV’s biggest awards were announced on Sunday and LGBTQI excellence was featured in some of the prominent award categories.
