A man who was found dead at a property in the east end of Glasgow has been named locally as Gavin Mclean.
The body of the 44-year-old was discovered on Aberfoyle Street at 3am on Tuesday morning. Emergency services scrambled to the road after the alarm was raised but Gavin was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 55-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder.
Tributes have been paid to Gavin by shocked loved ones who described him as a 'good guy'.
Leading the tributes, Jacqueline Boyle said: “My wee cuz, nobody will ever take your place. You were some boy. I will miss our wee talks x”
Laura Skinner said: “R.I.P Gavin ma big cuz. Still doesn’t feel real, love always.”
Shelby Mann said: “RIP to my big cousin Gavin, you will be sorely missed. What a shocker. He was a good guy, a cheery dude. He will be missed.”
Steven McGowan said: “RIP Gavin Mclean, was only chatting to you a few weeks ago on video call arranging a wee night out for a catch up. Seriously gutted pal.”
William Cozmo Collins said: “Just heard Gavin McLean passed away last night. Rest easy my homie. Real Haghill boys.”
Daniel Mcghee added: “Gavin was a good guy. I had a lot a time for him.”
Police cordoned off Irongray Street to Aberdour Street in the Haghill area of the city yesterday morning. Residents say forensic teams were at the scene while a Police Scotland mobile wellbeing unit was also seen on site.
Officers say their enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the death of a 44-year-old man on Aberfoyle Street in Glasgow around 3am on Tuesday, December 20.
“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
