A conman who posed as a member of a notorious Scots crime family to extort cash from a teenager was jailed today for 22 months. Steven Adams, 34, targeted the 19-year-old student and his family at his address in Glasgow in September 2018.

A female relative of gangland hood Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel is said to have been left shaken after a car rammed into his Bishopbriggs home on Tuesday night.
The vehicle also caught fire after smashing into the plush three-bedroomed £340k villa in Bishopbriggs which Daniel, 42, is understood to share with partner Avril Connell, 43.
Pictures from the scene on Wednesday show the badly damaged house on John Marshall Drive, with the door of the property boarded up as debris littered the ground outside. The wall of the porch at the property was also partially caved in by the force of the crash and tyre tracks could be seen on the grass in the front garden.
A source told the Daily Record Bonzo's relative was inside the property watching TV at the time a Mitsubishi vehicle ploughed into the front door. She is understood to have been left shaken but escaped unharmed. Balaclava thugs are also said to have been seen running from the vehicle after the crash.
The source said: "One of Bonzo's relatives was in the house at the time and she got the absolute fright of her life when the car smashed into the front of the house.
"Apparently she was just sitting watching TV and the next thing she knew the porch wall was coming in, with a car sticking out the front of the house. She has been left shaken.
Bonzo, who is also known as Steven Peebles, suffered grotesque facial wounds after being attacked with a machete following a high-speed car chase in May 2017 after a wave of violence between the Lyons and Daniel families erupted the previous December.
