Father John Misty Releases Live Album to Support MusiCares Coronavirus Relief

As teased, the Mountain Goats have released a new album via Merge. This one’s called Songs for Pierre Chuvin. According to a press release, it’s the first time since 2002’s All Hail West Texas that John Darnielle has recorded an album entirely on his boombox. Fittingly, a cassette edition of the album is due June 19. Listen to Songs for Pierre Chuvin below.

John Carpenter’s classic 1982 film The Thing featured an original score from legendary composer Ennio Morricone. Carpenter himself provided some additional music cues for the film to supplement Morricone’s score, and a new release features a collection of Carpenter’s unreleased music from the film. Lady Gaga is helping to put on a benefit show. During a Monday call with the World Health Organization (WHO), the 34-year-old singer announced that she is partnering with Global Citizen to put on a global special, , which will benefit the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO amid the coronavirus pandemic. Gaga has already helped Global Citizen raise $35 million in support of WHO.

Sunday’s Elton John-hosted “Living Room Concert for America,” featuring Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and many others, has raised nearly $8 million for coronavirus relief.

On Sunday night, the Grammy winner hosted the iHeartRadio Living Room Concert for America on Fox, which helped to support two of the many charitable organizations helping victims and first responders during the Coronavirus pandemic: Feeding America and First Responders Children's Foundation.

Sir Elton John enlisted some of the biggest names in music to perform live from their homes in a televised concert to raise money for the coronavirus relief effort.

Warner Music Group has made a donation to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund launched last week, CEO Steve Cooper said in a memo to the company’s staff.

Hiss Golden Messenger have released a new live album that they recorded at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina last year.
