A 17-year-old former student has recalled how 'years of bullying' at school has left her mentally scarred.
Keira Taylor and mum Kelly have accused Ormiston Meridian Academy in Meir, Staffordshire, of being too relaxed when it comes to dealing with incidents of bullying. The former pupil says the abuse she received began in year eight when a group of lads made fun of the way she looked and dressed.
It is also alleged that the boys also called her 38-year-old mum a 'fat disabled b****'. Despite the mother and daughter arguing that they raised the issues with the school, Keira claims that teachers brushed it off as "boys being boys". Speaking to Stoke-on-Trent Live, Keira recalled how poorly her fellow pupils treated her.

“I had nasty comments from a lot of boys who would shout at me across the classroom. It made me feel very insecure," Keira said. "They would also say things about my mum such as she is a ‘fat disabled bitch’ because she has got disabilities.
"It made school very hard because I had to go in every day knowing that I was going to have that every single hour I sat in a classroom. It made me want to shut myself in a room and not speak to anybody. It made school the worst thing for me.
“They would tell me to kill myself. I was either angry as hell or just sad. We spoke to the teachers more than once. There were so many times they got told what was happening. One of my teachers said it’s just “boys being boys” - their response was disgusting.”
Despite no longer attending the school, Keira says that the bullying still impacts her day-to-day life after being 'kicked out' of Newcastle College last September for being

Joan Jett has excoriated SeaWorld at its annual shareholders meeting over its alleged animal abuses, in particular its purported methods of forced breeding. The rocker appeared virtually on behalf of PETA, calling for an end to the company’s “sordid breeding program”.She said: “SeaWorld has caused public outrage by continuing to forcibly breed bottlenose dolphins and beluga whales in order to create generations of animals who then suffer in cramped tanks, deprived of any semblance of a natural life” [quotes via Consequence].Jett continued: “In the park’s breeding program, unwilling female dolphins are taken from the water and sometimes even drugged so they can’t fight back while SeaWorld staff thrust tubes filled with semen into their uteruses.“Some must endure this process repeatedly, only for their babies to die or be taken away and shipped off to other marine prisons.“We can all agree that sexually abusing dolphins and whales who must carry out their forced pregnancies is disrespectful to these forms of intelligent life, heedless of these wonderful animals’ rights, and just plain wrong. My question is this: When will SeaWorld end its sordid breeding program?”In a statement shared with Billboard SeaWorld said that it’s “more important now than ever to educate the public about marine animals” and to have “healthy populations in accredited and certified zoological settings” such as their own.“Having a zoological program allows us to be one of the foremost experts in marine mammal research, rescue, and rehabilitation.
Lizzo has been criticised for using an ableist slur in her new single ‘Grrrls’, where in the opening verse, she sings: “Hold my bag, bitch, hold my bag / Do you see this shit? I’ma sp*z.”While used colloquially in the United States with a similar meaning to ‘freak out’ or ‘go crazy’, the term emerges from the word ‘spastic’, which is used medically to describe the spasms one might experience from a condition like cerebral palsy. The term is often used in a derogative manner to describe those with disabilities, especially cerebral palsy. After the single was released last Friday (June 10), fans and disability activists took to social media to acknowledge their disappointment over the lyrics. Some called for the track to be pulled down and re-uploaded with the line removed.“I’m disappointed in @lizzo for using the word “sp@z” in her new song ‘Grrrls’,” wrote advocate Callum Stephen.
