A devastated mum says 'no punishment will ever be enough' for her evil ex-partner who murdered her two young children.
Laura Gray had initially believed that beloved youngsters had died in separate horrifying tragedies.
However, she later discovered that 24-day-old Ruby and 21-month-old Logan had been killed by her ex-boyfriend in a sick attempt to stop her leaving him.
Speaking for the first time, Laura told the Mirror how she is haunted by her tots' deaths and burdened by the guilt that she could have saved them from monster Jordan Monaghan.
The 29-year-old says: “I always feel guilty, every day I feel guilt, and it runs through my head all the time what I could have done differently.
“I carry that with me every day. I will carry that with me for the rest of my life.”
Eight months later, Monaghan killed Logan in a swimming pool cubicle before pushing his body back home in a pram.
Doctors ruled Ruby had pneumonia, while Logan’s cause of death was inconclusive. Laura never suspected her children had died at the hands of their father.
But in 2018 – five years later – information came to light involving the collapse of another child and police arrested construction worker Monaghan, 30, on suspicion of murder.
Horrifyingly, while on police bail as inquiries continued, he murdered his girlfriend Evie Adams, 23, with a deadly cocktail of tramadol and diazepam.
Last month, Monaghan was found guilty of three counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder on an unidentified child.
He was jailed for a minimum of 40 years.
Chillingly, it emerged he had tried to smother Ruby a few days before her death.
Laura says the family had the “best Christmas ever” after Ruby was born on December 8, 2012.
