Karene Peter has joined the hit ITV soap as Naomi and has already teased what's coming up for her character, as well as whether she will be a village regular. Speaking at a recent press day with OK! , the actress, 30, also shared details about her career so far and how she first found out she had the role of Naomi.

I kind of just fell into it by accident to be honest, I was on a gap year in uni just working in retail, the glamorous day job life, I met someone who is my very good friend now who told me to come to some acting classes. "I told him I was interested in drama and things like that, went to some acting classes and there was an agency affiliated with those classes. It was like an acting school part-time and I got signed, kind of fell into things from there.
"Yeah, it's been a long and interesting journey. Outside of that, I'm very into my fitness, Kevin [Mathurin, who plays Charles] will tell you that... very into my fitness.
"I sing as well, I feel like I'm a bit boring. I'm a family orientated girl, so yeah, my nephews are my world. I'm a pretty chilled and laidback kind of person, really." Talking about how she first found out she had the role and joining the iconic ITV soap, Karene added: "Yeah, of course, it's been very surreal.
