Bad blood? Jesy Nelson doesn’t appear to be on the best of terms with her former band, Little Mix — but the reason why might need a little explaining.
After winning The X-Factor UK in 2011, the original quartet — which included Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall — became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time thanks to hits like “Wings” and “Shout Out to My Ex.”
However, in December 2020, Nelson announced she was leaving the band to focus on her mental health.
Little Mix is addressing the accusations that former bandmate Jesy Nelson was blackfishing.
Little Mix have revealed they approached Jesy Nelson about blackfishing in a "friendly, educational manner" while she was in the band. Jade Thirlwall,Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards spoke out about their views on blackfishing following the backlash Jesy has received following her debut solo single Boyz.
Jesy Nelson told host Graham Norton that she no longer is speaking to her former Little Mix bandmates. Making her debut solo appearance on the chat show in an episode which airs on Friday night, Jesy discussed the state of her current relationship with the band, after their rift hit headlines recently in response to her latest music video for single, Boyz.
Little Mix appear to have dispelled rumours that they will be splitting up with a statement on their website that says they are showing "no signs of slowing down." The group - who lost member Jesy Nelson in 2020 - are gearing up to release their latest album, Between Us. As part of the promotion, the remaining girls - Leigh-Anne Pinnock,Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall - have created a special website that celebrates their time in the band since winning the X Factor in 2011.
Jesy Nelson reportedly wants to end her "feud" with former band Little Mix as she feels it is "getting a bit much". The singer, 30, left the girl group in December after nine years and only recently released her first solo single, Boyz, featuring Nicki Minaj but was quickly hit with blackfishing allegations after people accused her of trying to make her skin darker than it is — something she denies.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock has been filmed making an emotional speech during her 30th birthday celebrations on Saturday 17 October. Little Mix star Leigh-Anne, who turned 30 earlier this month, became tearful as she declared "I know my character" as she made a speech to partygoers.
Little Mix will reportedly announce next month they are parting ways to pursue solo careers, it has been claimed. Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, who appeared to take aim at ex-bandmate Jesy Nelson in their new song Cut You Off amid their "feud", are said to be heading in different directions after their 2022 tour.
