Neville on Ronaldo: "I want his Manchester United career to finish well, what he’s achieved at the club, what he’s achieved in the game. Is it too much for him to ask to encourage the younger players, be a leader on the pitch, do the interviews when your team win and your team lose, make sure you set the standards like he always does in training, score goals, let him leave Manchester on a high?
" This is messy for him, for the club, for everybody. We want him to stay, we’re desperate for him to stay, we don’t want sagas that drag on, they never look good, they always look a little distasteful. It needs clarifying, sorting out, we can’t have this for another three weeks if you’re a Man United fan or Erik ten Hag. He needs to be able to concentrate on the whole team, performance, tactical way of playing. He doesn’t want to be distracted all the time by the star player, is he going to stay is he going to go?"
Jamie Carragher: "I’ve been critical of the Ronaldo signing since he come in and I actually said today, Ten Hag should be moving on from that and I know it’s easier said than done
