Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can be ‘annoying’, Ron DeSantis says

Ron DeSantis doesn’t seem to be on Team Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The 44-year-old Republican appeared on a recent episode of the TalkTV show “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and told the Brit how he thinks Americans find the royal couple “annoying.”Morgan, 57, first asked the politician what he thought of the late Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96.DeSantis noted that he “respected” the long-reigning monarch and believed she was “really elegant.”“And I think her stoicism was really good,” he added. He then explained how there is a difference between the public’s view of the sovereign and the “younger generations” of the royal family.Reaction to the younger batch of royals is a “little more mixed,” DeSantis said. “I mean that’s just the reality.” As for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the governor was asked by the English TV broadcaster if he felt the duo were “annoying.”“I think for some they are,” DeSantis replied.

‘Average Height, Average Build’: Adam McKay Is Shopping Around A Serial Killer Dramedy, Wants Robert Pattinson & Robert Downey Jr. To Star

What’s Adam McKay have on his mind as a follow-up to 2021’s “Don’t Look Up“? At the Tribeca Film Festival last year, McKay hinted that he was working on a script all about “big, dirty money,” ostensibly about the USA’s corrupt corporate and financial sectors. That sounds like a logical next step for the guy who made “The Big Short” in 2015.

MuchMusic Documentary ‘299 Queen Street West’ Traces How a Renegade Canadian Channel Took on MTV and Won (For a While)

Amber Dowling When Canadian specialty station MuchMusic launched in August 1984, founders John Martin and Moses Znaimer had about two hours of planned content to fill six hours of airtime. Their strategy? Pack the place with notable faces (Eugene Levy, Martin Short), create a party atmosphere in the control room “stage,” and let inaugural VJs Christopher Ward and J.D. Roberts figure out the rest as they went along. Thus, the iconic “Nation’s Music Station” was born. It was a scrappy, wild atmosphere in which inexperienced but music-loving kids stepped in front of the cameras with free reign to experiment and play the videos they loved. There were no rules and even less structure, but it worked. At the height of its popularity, MuchMusic was the global destination for artists of all genres. And it was led by a diverse and history-making group of hosts who connected those artists with fans in a new way—through the legendary studios at 299 Queen St. West in Toronto.

Eugene Levy: TV Shows ‘Destroyed’ the Mockumentary Genre, So a New Christopher Guest Fake Doc Is Unlikely

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Bad news for any comedy fan hoping Christopher Guest might get his troupe back together for another mockumentary movie. Guest and actors such as Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Jane Lynch and more popularized the fake documentary format with comedy classics such as “Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind” and “Waiting for Guffman.” Guest even co-wrote and acted in perhaps the most famous mockumentary of all time, 1984’s “This Is Spinal Tap.” Yet Levy recently told The Guardian that another mockumentary from the Guest troupe is unlikely. “No, I don’t think it will happen,” Levy said. “Our last one was ‘For Your Consideration’ back in 2006. Our fake documentaries — Chris always hated the term ‘mockumentary’ because we’re not mocking, it’s more affectionate than that — but they were getting a little cookie-cutter in terms of story. Everything was kind of the same, except we just changed the subject. At a certain point, that becomes predictable. In the interim, so many television shows have picked up that form and just destroyed it.”

Eugene Levy Says Christopher Guest’s Mockumentaries Are Probably Over Because “TV Shows Have Destroyed” The Form

One of the greatest mockumentaries of all time is “This Is Spinal Tap,” and while filmmaker Christopher Guest didn’t direct it (that was Rob Reiner), he did co-write it with his co-stars Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, and Reiner. Soon after, Guest took that formula and ran with it, creating several other classic mockumentary comedies, including “Waiting for Guffman,” “Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind,” “For Your Consideration,” and the last one, “Mascots” in 2016 for Netflix.

‘Morning Joe’ Takes Down Trump’s Claim That He Is the Only 2024 Candidate Who ‘Will Prevent World War 3 Very Easily’ (Video)

“Morning Joe” pushed back against former President Donald Trump on Monday after he told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) over the weekend that he is the only 2024 candidate who can “prevent, and very easily, World War III” and that he would settle the Russia-Ukraine war in “no longer than one day.” In response to Trump’s claim, Willie Geist pointed out that one “big reason” why Russia has not taken over Ukraine is because of the “strength of NATO” and the United States and Europe’s support of the organization. “His administration officials and people who worked alongside him said he wanted to pull the United States out of NATO, which would’ve effectively made it dissolve,” Geist added.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Bryan Cranston said in an interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace that Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan could be received as a “racist remark,” and he asked both Wallace and viewers at home if they’ve ever taken time to consider why that is the case. “The ‘Make America Great Again’ – my comment is: Do you accept that that could possibly be construed as a racist remark?” Cranston said. “And most people, a lot of people go, ‘How could that be racist? Make America Great Again?’ I said, ‘So just ask yourself from, from an African American experience, when was it ever great in America for the African American? When was it great?’”
