Erik ten Hag has told Marcus Rashford he should be aiming for 40 goals in a season next after becoming the first player in a decade to net 30 times in a single campaign for Manchester United.
Rashford's goal against Chelsea on Thursday night saw him become the first United player to achieve the feat since Robin van Persie in the last title-winning season. It is a considerable improvement on the five he scored throughout the whole of last season, but already Ten Hag is calling for Rashford to up his numbers even more.
The academy graduate has been one of the success stories of the Ten Hag era, having fallen out of favour under Ralf Rangnick towards the end of last season.

He is now better than ever and is a major threat for United on the left or playing at centre forward, but Ten Hag is insistent there is still more to come from the 25-year-old.
"There's a lot of room for improvement in his game. I'm convinced he can score even more," he said.
"When you take, for instance, the last 10 games he didn't score many goals. I think only two or three, so yes he can improve. I am happy from what he did last season to now that he brings himself back.
"We supported him where we could, with the way we play but also in his mental mindset. We are happy with that, but we must push him more. I think he's capable of to score 40 goals in a season. So for him that's the next step."
That is a mouth-watering prospect for United fans, especially when Ten Hag is continuing to push for a striker to be signed this summer.
