Since leaving Emmerdale five years ago, former soap star Joe Gill has had a dramatic transformation away from the Yorkshire Dales. The 28 year old, who was known for his role as Finn Barton, appeared on our screens between 2013 and 2017 before his character was tragically killed off. After accidentally being shot by his on-screen mother Emma Barton, viewers saw Joe’s character Finn get rushed to hospital where he shortly died from his injuries.

In an Instagram photo the star posted back in February 2021, the actor could be seen sporting some longer locks and a beard. Having ditched the glasses, Joe is unrecognisable from his time on-screen as he opted for a rather colourful combination of some khaki trousers and a burgundy fleece. In another sweet snap, the TV star showed off his changing looks as he posed alongside his brother.
Captioning the picture, he wrote: “A very Happy Birthday to the best brother a man could ask for @andy.gill thanks for everything and love you long long time” followed by a heart and star emoji. Prior to leaving the streets of Home Farm, Joe explained that his decision to exit the show was because it was the “right time” to move on and begin a new chapter. Since stepping back from the hit show, Joe has been busy working in the world of theatre and has appeared in performances including The Full Monty.
