Emmerdale 's Roxy Shahidi has teased her character Leyla Cavanagh's upcoming dramatic storyline on the ITV soap. In upcoming scenes, Leyla's drug habit is exposed as she and newcomer Suzy celebrate a business win at Take a Vow.
And Roxy, 39, who plays Leyla, has revealed that her character is "terrified" of her secret and her real link to Suzy being exposed in the village. Talking to Metro, she said: "It’s terrifying for Leyla because she’s been managing to keep these two worlds apart.
It’s almost like your mistress and your wife being in the same room. "With the proximity of Suzy she feels she’s closer to being caught or exposed, whereas when what she did with Suzy was safely tucked away and separate she could compartmentalise that.

"But with Suzy being in her home, in her local, sat talking to her husband, she feels she’s going to be less able to do that." It comes after Emmerdale released a spoiler video of the dramatic moment Vanessa Woodfield almost discovers Suzy and Leyla's secret.
During the spoiler video, it sees Suzy talking to a mystery man called Callum as Leyla stands guard. And it's not long until Leyla spots Vanessa heading towards them as she shouts loudly so Suzy will hear: "Oh, hi Vanessa!" Vanessa, who is oblivious to their secret and has been dating Suzy recently, then asks if she is around to which Leyla lies and says: "No, not yet!" The village vet then offers to hang around until Suzy arrives to which Leyla insists: "What and go putting us off our pitch? That's not the best idea, is it? I'll tell you what is, why don't you just meet her in the pub like you said you were going to do."
