Emmerdale was full of drama on Tuesday night as Meena Jutla was finally charged for her murders and crimes by the police. Only recently, Liam Cavanagh and wife Leyla Harding discovered the evil nurse's sick keepsake tin on their allotment, which contained trophies from all of her murders. After running a forensic examination on the items, it was confirmed that Meena's fingerprints were on the objects and the police finally had evidence for her crimes.
Delivering the news, a delighted DS Rogers declared: "We've liaised with the CPS and we have what we need now. Meena Jutla, I am charging you with the murders of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker. "I'm also charging you with the attempted murders of Victoria Sugden and Leyla Cavanagh. And for possession of an unregulated firearm. "For the kidnapping, false imprisonment and attempted murders of Manpreet Sharma and Vinny Dingle.
And for the kidnapping and false imprisonment of Billy Fletcher and Dawn Taylor. I am arresting you for assaulting PC Harriet Finch." The episode ended with Meena ringing vicar Charles Anderson, who is her sister Manpreet's boyfriend and Andrea's ex, as she said: "Oh Charles, thank God, the police have charged me. I need your help.
"I need to find forgiveness and redemption. Please don't turn your back on me... as a man of God, I'm begging you!" And in upcoming scenes next week, Meena tells visitor Charles all about Andrea’s murder – leaving him traumatised – as she continues to cause trouble in the village.
