Emmerdale's long-serving actor Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle, has said that he "could be next" to be axed from the soap, ahead of its 50th anniversary. The 52 year old is instantly recognisable to even those who haven't avidly watched every episode of the countryside-set programme, as he's played wayward Cain for an impressive 22 years and has been at the centre of some of the show's biggest storylines.

I look forward to doing that and that is as much as I know.” Emmerdale's 50th anniversary celebrations will be happening throughout October, with many of the huge storylines being kept under wraps. Executive producer Jane Hudson previously teased: "As we start our birthday month, we'll be focusing on our Faith storyline, which is a huge storyline for us at the moment. Then we will work our way
