Emmerdale star Emma Atkins has sweetly discussed her "unique friendship" with former co-star and best friend Charley Webb. The actress, 47, plays the iconic Charity Dingle on the ITV soap while Charley, 34, played her on-screen daughter Debbie Dingle — Charley revealed earlier this year that she had quit Emmerdale after 19 years. Speaking to OK! at an exclusive shoot with Lucy Pargeter, Emma likened Charley to a “mother figure” despite the fact she’s 13 years younger than her.
The actress also revealed that they live round the corner from each other and that their children are "inseparable" – Emma has son Albert, seven, and Charley has sons Buster, Bowie and Ace with fellow Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden. It’s quite a unique friendship in that way." Emma also recalled the time that she and Lucy both went to Charley’s surprise wedding to husband Matthew in 2018, which guests actually thought was her 30th birthday party. She admitted: "I was gutted because I didn’t look that great and she [Charley] said, ‘Make sure you come looking
