Emmerdale fans think they have worked out a new twist on the ITV soap after Chas Dingle embarked in an affair with Al Chapman. Only recently, Chas has been turning to Al for support instead of husband Paddy Dingle after learning that her mother Faith Dingle's breast cancer has returned and it is incurable.
During Thursday's episode, Chas issued Al an ultimatum, telling him "no obligations, no promises, no feelings" as they agreed only to get in contact to arrange a time and place. Soap watchers now think that Chas could become pregnant in a bombshell and it could tie into the ITV soap's 50th anniversary, especially after bosses teased a new baby arrival in the village.

My first thought was Lydia and Sam, but what if it is Chas?!" A different account put: "OMG never thought about Chas." Another follower wrote: "Gonna be Chas and Al will be the Dad." A different account speculated: "Yes I wondered if its Chas or maybe its too obvious." While another soap watcher added: "I think it could be Chas as she’s been having an affair with Al." It comes after bosses Laura Shaw and Jane Hudson revealed that there will be a "new arrival before the year is out", but remained tight-lipped over whose baby it would be.
