Emmerdale fans called for the return of nurse Gail Hancock on Wednesday's episode after Marlon Dingle returned to hospital on Tuesday. Only recently, Marlon had a life-threatening stroke in heartbreaking episodes with the ITV soap working closely with the charity, Stroke Association, to give a "realistic and authentic depiction" of his journey. And on Tuesday's episode, Marlon came up against another health battle as he was rushed to hospital with aspiration pneumonia and his rehabilitation is likely to regress.
During Wednesday's episode, it saw Marlon and Rhona Goskirk talking to his new nurse and viewers were quick to question where nurse Gail Hancock was, who had cared for Marlon following his stroke. A different account put: "Where’s Gail? #Emmerdale." While another follower wrote: "A new nurse for Marlon.
#Emmerdale." It comes after Marlon star Mark Charnock bid an emotional farewell to his co-star Elizabeth Boag last week as she left the ITV soap. Taking to Twitter after her final episode aired, Gail star Elizabeth revealed that it was the end of her journey on the ITV soap and that she had "loved every minute". Posting a picture of herself in character, Elizabeth penned: "Bye Gail! Thank you @markcharnock , @ZoeHenry03 , all the cast, crew and casting team @emmerdale .
Loved every minute," with a kiss emoji. To which Mark sweetly replied with: "You were wonderful in the part, Liz! Just superb. Xx." Viewers were also left upset over nurse Gail no longer appearing in the ITV soap as they took to Twitter to bid farewell.
