Emmerdale cast look worlds away from characters in new glamorous snap for 50th

Emmerdale has released a new glamorous picture ahead of the ITV soap's 50th anniversary on Sunday 16 October. In the snap, it sees cast members Louise Jameson, Kevin Mathurin, Emile John, Lawrence Robb, Martelle Edinborough, Darcy Grey, Jessie Elland and Karene Peter look worlds away from their characters.
Louise plays Mary Goskirk, Kevin plays Charles Anderson, Emile plays Ethan Anderson, Lawrence plays Mackenzie Boyd, Martelle plays Suzy Merton, Darcy plays Marcus Dean, Jessie plays Chloe Harris and Karene plays Naomi Walters. All of the cast members are relatively new to the hit ITV soap after joining in 2020, 2021 and 2022 but this hasn't stopped their characters from having explosive storylines.
Each of the soap stars have been cast by Emmerdale’s Casting Director, Faye Styring, who has been casting the show for seventeen years. Emmerdale Casting Director, Faye Styring, said: "As a team we are passionate about finding new talent and the right actor for the role.
All of these actors have really made their own mark on the show already." Talking about joining the show and the 50th anniversary celebrations, Karene, who plays Naomi, said: "It’s been great joining the show at such an iconic moment in time! Everyone has been super welcoming and it feels like I’ve been here forever!" While Martelle, who plays Suzy, said: "‘I’m absolutely loving being part of the team. I grew up on Emmerdale so it’s a real honour to be in it especially during its 50th year of being on our screens!" Elsewhere, Kevin, who plays Charles, said: "As long as I can remember my Mum never missed an episode and now she watches me in it!
