Having spent days focusing her attention on her fundraising event, Lola invites Emma over to join her and Lexi (Isabella Brown) for a girly night in. When Emma awkwardly declines the offer, concerns are sparked for Jay, who worries that she may not be handling things as well as they initially thought. Emma abandoned Lola as a child, and only recently came back into Lola’s life, after Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) invited her to Lola and Jay’s wedding, having finally tracked her down.
Though she didn’t turn up, she later booked an appointment with Lola at the salon under an alias, in an attempt to get to know her. However, the truth was soon outed when Lola discovered that Emma had given her some money after hearing about her illness through online videos. Lola was hesitant to trust her, until Emma revealed the real reason she left.
She admitted that Lola’s father had thrown boiling water over her, leaving her hospitalised for months. By the time she got out, she had been forced out of the family. Finally, Lola forgave her mum and decided to start again, getting to know her properly.
