Emily Heller Inks Overall Deal With CBS Studios (EXCLUSIVE)

EXCLUSIVE: One of the longest ongoing creative partnerships between a showrunner and a studio is set to continue. Vince Gilligan, creator of the blockbuster Breaking Bad franchise, which has spawned two hit series and a movie, has re-upped his overall deal with Breaking Bad producer Sony Pictures Television.

Turns out the grass is greener up in Cupertino, at least figuratively and literally for Misha Green.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter“Lovecraft Country” creator Misha Green has signed a multi-year overall deal with Apple in a competitive situation.Under the deal, Green will create and develop television projects for Apple’s streaming platform. News of the deal comes just days after it was announced that “Lovecraft Country” will not return for a second season at HBO.

Michael Starrbury continues his collaboration with Netflix as he inks a multi-year overall deal with the streamer to develop new series programming.

The Good Fight and Evil creators Robert and Michelle King are staying at their longtime studio home, CBS Studios. But this was not a straight-forward overall deal renewal. The big new five-year pact, said to be in the high eight figures with a potential to cross the nine-figure mark in success, came after months of negotiations.
