Elle Macpherson managed to shock This Morning's Alison Hammond after revealing her age. The internationally acclaimed supermodel appeared opposite Alison, 48, and her co-host Dermot O'Leary , 49, on today's instalment of the beloved daytime programme to discuss her thoughts on wellness, and how her perception of her famous body has changed over the years.
But she left the presenters - and viewers at home - dumbfounded when she revealed she's almost 60-years-old. Discussing her changing body image and her approach to wellness, Elle said: "There's been a couple of crossroads - the first was when I was 40, well 35, with the birth of my first son.
I started to realise how incredible the body was because, in the past, I understood wellness as being fitness - and that's what I did. "I did fitness with bells on and I honed the tone of the body that I required for work." The former Friends guest star said after pregnancy and childbirth, she saw the "true magic" of the human body and realised "this concept of perfection on the outside was really so much more magical on the inside".
She continued and said the second "crossroads" came about when she turned 50, which was "10 years ago". She confessed to being "in a terrible state" and said she was "putting on weight" while her skin was "dry" and her hair was "brittle", but doctors told her that's partly what happens as you age.
Alison interjected and said: "Sorry, can we just rewind? Did you just say, 10 years ago, you turned 50?" Dermot let out a laugh, and said: "There was a collective gasp in our ear." His co-host asked for further confirmation and said: "You're not 60 now?" Elle then confirmed she'll be turning 60 next year. Bubbly Alison then told the former model and wellness
