‘Elden Ring’ is Steam Deck Verified at launch

Valve’s recently released Steam Deck now has a quite simple way for players to install the Windows operating system on the device.The portable PC has been said to be able to run other operating systems, and now Valve is helping users easily get Windows running on the device as well. Elden Ring building that might be used for downloadable content (DLC) in the future.Discovered by famed Soulsborne dataminer Lance McDonald, the footage of the building looks a lot like a massive colosseum.McDonald believes it’s for a forthcoming Player vs Player (PvP) focused DLC package. The YouTube video offers some insight of what to expect from the currently inaccessible area.The building is huge and has a ghostly figure waiting outside. When interacted with, the figure says “all I wanted was to fight”.

Martin has celebrated the release and critical reception of Elden Ring with a new blog post.The A Song Of Ice And Fire author did the world building and background details for the game before handing these off to FromSoftware, with the developer constructing the story and rest of the game.Yesterday (February 28), Martin shared a post that said although he can “hardly pretend to be objective,” the positive reception to Elden Ring has been “music to the ears”.“Of course, almost all the credit should go to Hidetaka Miyazaki and his astonishing team of games designers who have been labouring on this game for half a decade or more, determined to create the best video game ever,” said Martin.“I am honoured to have met them and worked with them, and to have played a part, however small, in creating this fantastic world and making Elden Ring the landmark megahit that it is.”In NME’s review of Elden Ring we scored it five out of five stars, with Andy Brown calling it “a glowing spectacle of achievement” that “leaves nothing out”.The game is also looking to be the fastest selling Souls game of all time as it reaches number one in the UK boxed video game charts, with digital sales to be revealed later in the week.

PC players are reportedly suffering 'stuttering' issues shortly after Elden Ring's release - and it's not their hardware's fault.

Valve has released an online tool to help players quickly find out which games in their Steam library are Steam Deck compatible.With the portable PC release right around the corner, Valve has streamlined how players can find out the compatibility of their library on the Steam Deck. Whilst Valve is going to be testing “new titles constantly and [will] continue past launch,” this acts as a simple way for players to figure out if their favourite games work on the Steam Deck.As outlined in this blog post, games in each player’s library are given a compatibility rating, revealing if a game is Steam Deck verified, playable (may require extra work), unsupported  or untested.By signing in at this link, users can see the compatibility list of their own Steam library.

Many players are probably excited to get stuck into Elden Ring right away and if you have pre-ordered the game there is a way to ensure you can play as soon as possible.

With Elden Ring launching this week, fans are excited to get their heads stuck into another story-rich world developed by FromSoftware.
