A dog walker was chased by a man carrying a blade in a popular woodlands near Edinburgh this afternoon.
The woman was approached and chased by a male as she was walking near Tormain Woods, Ratho.
He brandished the bladed weapon and the terrified woman fled. Cops swooped on the the area shortly after 3pm but the man was nowhere to be seen, reports Edinburgh Live.
Multiple police vehicles and a dog unit were spotted by worried locals in the village and the woodland area as enquiries to trace the suspect remain ongoing.
Officers confirmed the woman was later traced and was thankfully uninjured after the traumatic ordeal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3:25pm on Wednesday, March 15, officers received a report of a woman being chased by a man with a knife while walking her dog near Tormain Woods, Ratho.
"Officers attended and traced the woman who was uninjured. Enquiries to trace the man remain ongoing."
