Edinburgh Airport has slammed claims by passengers that they are being "herded like cattle" amid travel chaos.
Photos taken at the airport appear to show a throng of impatient flyers stuck in long queues, snaking round the terminal.
The snap shows people waiting in huge lines as they wait to drop off their luggage, reports Edinburgh Live.
The queues seem to crowd the entire drop-off area of the airport, with people seen spreading all the way to the back of the building.
It comes as an ongoing staff shortage continues to cause delays.
One irate passenger said: “There's utter chaos at the airport, people are being herded like cattle".
But the airport has hit back at the comments, saying it is the "nature of an airport" to have busy spells, particularly during summer.
In the remark, they reminded those journeying to leave plenty of time for travel through the airport, with all their documents ready.
A spokesman for Edinburgh Airport said staff at the site would always work their hardest to get passengers through as speedily as possible.
They said: "As we have explained numerous times, queues are likely in airports given the nature of them and even more likely in busy periods like summer.
"Staff, as always, worked hard to get passengers through as quickly as possible.
"Passengers should always ensure they arrive in good time and are prepared for their trip by having the correct documentation and being ready for security."
